Exeter’s State-of-the-Art Wastewater Upgrades
Located along the banks of the Squamscott River, and a part of the Great Bay watershed, the Town of Exeter, New Hampshire provides sewer service to approximately 3,600 residential, commercial, and industrial wastewater accounts within town as well as small portions of the Towns of Stratham and Hampton. Exeter’s 3.0 MGD wastewater treatment facility (WWTF) was comprehensively upgraded from an aerated lagoon facility to a new activated sludge treatment facility with nitrogen removal as well as upgrades to the Main Pump Station and sewage force main. Wright-Pierce provided planning, design and construction administration services for all of the wastewater upgrade projects. The $53.5 million upgrade was awarded in four construction contracts to T-Buck Construction (Main Pump Station), J.A. Polito & Sons (force mains), Apex Construction (WWTF) and Synagro (WWTF sludge removal).
