Capital Shopping Center Expansion, Concord, NH
Nobis Group worked closely with the City of Concord, Brixmor Property Group, and CREATE Architects, a Manhattan based architecture firm, to transform an outdated, underutilized urban shopping plaza and parking lot in historic downtown Concord into a vibrant extension of the city’s Storrs Street hub. Nobis Group provided extensive civil and geotechnical engineering services for this project, which stands out not just for its engineering innovation, but also for the active community involvement and integrated design input from the City of Concord that took place throughout design and construction.
The Capitol Shopping Center Expansion consisted of the design and construction of three new buildings for restaurant and retail businesses (including 110 Grill, Playa Bowls, Starbucks, Xfinity, and T-Mobile), associated parking, a two-lane drive-thru for Starbucks, multiple outdoor patio areas, loading areas, landscaping, and walkways throughout the site connecting to the existing public sidewalk along Storrs Street and downtown Concord.
